1. CHOOSE YOUR CHARGING SPEED

240-Volt Outlet

Adds about 20-30 miles per hour of charging. Requires installation of a 240-volt charging station. We recommend installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet, which is compatible with many home chargers like those approved for the PowerMIDrive rebates.

120-Volt Outlet

Adds 3-4 miles per hour of charging. Plug your vehicle’s charging cord into a normal household, three-prong, 120-volt outlet.

2. CHECK FOR REBATES

PowerMIDrive Rebates Available

You can qualify for a rebate of up to $500 with a new Level 2 charger installation, or an installation within the prior 12 months.

3. Install Your Charger

Please Note: There is a difference between a hard-wired home charger installed by a professional and a plug-in home charger. Recommended chargers such as the NEMA 14-50 outlet allow for a L2 home charger to be taken with you if you move. All PowerMIDrive rebate eligible home chargers have both a hard-wired and plug-in option available to you.

Licensed Contractor

Consult a licensed electrical contractor to see what’s needed for your Level 2 charger installation. Your contractor or local city government can inform you of permits or other documents as required.
